Your data
Delete your account or data
You can leave at any time, and you don’t need to give a reason. During the preview there’s no instant delete button: you ask, and the maker deletes your online data by hand.

1. Ask for your Days on Purpose account to be deleted
Open the Leave the preview page in the Days on Purpose web app (Settings → Leave the preview), signed in with your invited address, and press Ask to delete my account. You can add a short note if you like, and you can take the request back until the maker acts on it.
Can’t sign in? Email help@daysonpurpose.com from the address you were invited with instead.
Each app also has a “leave” option in its settings. That disconnects the app and clears what it kept on your phone, but it doesn’t delete your Days on Purpose account — only step 1 does.
What the maker does
- Checks the request came from you.
- Closes your account straight away. This signs you out everywhere and disconnects all your phones, so nothing more can be added.
- Deletes what Days on Purpose holds for you: your invitation and email address, your sign-in links to Google, your goals, progress, points and milestones, your daily copies of them, your Train on Purpose workouts (including imported ones), plans and race searches, your Strava connection, any Doorway practice records, connected phones, accountability-partner records, group vows you were part of, and your preview research events.
- Deletes the words the Doorway voice service recognised from your speech, if you used it.
- Writes back to tell you it’s done.
We aim to finish within 30 days of your request.
What is kept
- Your support messages. Messages you sent through Send feedback stay in the support inbox, with your account number, what you wrote, any email address you gave for a reply and any diagnostics you attached. We keep them so we can see which problems came up. If you want them removed, say so in your deletion request (or write to us any time), and the maker will delete them by hand.
- A blank marker for your old account — just an internal number and dates, labelled “Deleted account”. It holds no name, email or content, and stops old sign-ins or phones from getting back in.
- A record that your request was done — the account number and the dates.
- Someone else’s choices: if someone chose you as their accountability partner, their record is theirs. If a partner unsubscribed from emails, a scrambled form of their address is kept for up to three years so they aren’t emailed again.
Copies that take a little longer to disappear
- Server logs at our hosting provider may hold a masked email address (like
a***@example.com) and basic request details until they expire — 14 days once the Days on Purpose web app runs on Amazon Web Services. - Emails we sent you (sign-in links, partner emails, replies) stay in your inbox, and our email service, Resend, keeps its own record of them for its usual period.
- Doorway voice service: its automatic backups can hold a copy for up to 35 days, and a small retry queue for up to 14 days.
- Database backups: Days on Purpose makes no backups of its own. Our database provider, Upstash, may keep its own; we haven’t yet confirmed how long. If you’d like to know, ask and we’ll find out and tell you.
2. Delete what’s on your phone
Uninstalling an app removes the data it kept on the phone. A few things live outside the app and stay until you remove them:
- Train on Purpose: backups in your own Google Drive, workouts you wrote to Health Connect or Apple Health, and any backup or CSV files you exported.
- Scroll on Purpose: videos you recorded for a camera challenge, in your gallery, and anything you shared from a creative challenge.
- Doorway: nothing outside the app.
- Days on Purpose in a browser: signing out removes its copy from that browser.
Only want to delete your research events?
In the Days on Purpose web app, go to Settings → Pilot and choose Delete my pilot data. That removes your preview research events and your agreement, and keeps everything else.
